Blackberry

Purchase:

Blackberry, belongs to the Rosaceae family. It is the edible fruit or berry of the bramble genus Rubus. There are more than 300 species of blackberries.

Freshness:

It can be seen in its firm texture, it must be whole, not torn (denotes excessive degree of maturity and may have a bad taste and shortened its “Useful life”). Characteristic Color (not black). Fresh non-fermented Aroma. Blackberries also sell frozen, whole or in pulp. (See Frozen. Introduction).

When you go to buy the product in the supermarket, we recommend:

  • Observe that the display site is clean and adequately refrigerated.
  • Choose the products, preferably in this order: vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheeses and dairy in general, after the products of pantry, but before the meats, poultry, fish and shellfish.
  • When you reach your destination refrigerate, so that the “cold chain” of the same is not interrupted.

Uses:

It is used in the preparation of juices, milkshakes, fluffs (mousse), jellies, jams, ice cream, mousse, cakes and confectionery in general. In sauces for: meats, desserts and ice creams.

Storage:

The BlackBerry, if it is for juice, it is not necessary to remove the twigs, so it is strained, but if it is for jam or sauces, if they should be removed. Juice BlackBerry is packaged in plastic bag portions and frozen.
