The raspberry or strawberry of the forest belongs to the Rosaceae family. It is a berry and the fruit of the raspberry forest. Native to Europe and North Asia.


There are different varieties. Its colors are black, red, white and orange. They’re sweet-tasting. They are also sold frozen, canned, in syrup or frozen pulp. (See Frozen products in the introduction of this application and canned and canning). When you go to buy the product in the supermarket, we recommend:

  • Observe that the display site is clean and adequately refrigerated.
  • Choose the products, preferably in this order: vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheeses and dairy in general, after the products of pantry, but before the meats, poultry, fish and shellfish.
  • When you reach your destination refrigerate, so that the “cold chain” of the same is not interrupted.


Raspberries are used alone as fruit, in beverages, milkshakes, ice cream, mousse, tarts, cakes, biscuits, cake fillings, pie and desserts in general.


Fresh raspberries are very delicate and last little because they start to mohosear. Wash quickly (if dirty), portion in plastic bag and freeze.


Freeze. Cool.


Refrigerated, 2-3 days approx. Frozen, about 1 month or more.


It is advisable to preserve them, to freeze them, but only to use them in beverages, jellies, jams or sauces, not to consume alone. -All berries or fruits of the forest should be immersed in water with vinegar, drain and dry gently, to prevent mold from coming out. -It is suggested not to cook fruit for beverages as they lose nutrients.
