Purchase:

Orange is a citrus. There are different kinds and sizes. Their color may or might not depend on their maturity or influence their sweetness.

Freshness:

It is reflected in the firm texture to the touch, shiny skin, without bruises or coffee roughness. Characteristic Aroma fresh and soft. The color of its crust may or might not show its ripening point and sweetness. There are very sour and also very sweet no matter if they are green or yellow. Its more or less sweet citric flavor depends on the kind of orange and its ripening point.

When you go to buy the product in the supermarket, we recommend:

  • Observe that the display site is clean and adequately refrigerated.
  • Choose the products, preferably in this order: vegetables, fruits, eggs, cheeses and dairy in general, after the products of pantry, but before the meats, poultry, fish and shellfish.
  • When you reach your destination refrigerate, so that the “cold chain” of the same is not interrupted.

Uses:

Alone, in juice, in juices and milkshakes. -As an ingredient for salad dressings and spatters, desserts, mousse, ice cream, flans, jellies. -For cakes, biscuits, cakes and confectionery in general.

Storage:

Oranges, clean and dry can be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry, ventilated place. Or refrigerate them in the “fruit drawer” without bag. Do not store in a closed container or plastic bag, either outside or inside the refrigerator, because it shortens its “shelf life”, rots or molds them. Duration: At room temperature depends on the climate, the Orange class and the ripening point. -In cold weather, approximately 10 days. -In warm, approximately 4 days. Refrigerated, 15-20 days approx. Its duration also depends on freshness at the time of its purchase.

Tips:

Ambient temperature can be allowed to ripen and then refrigerated if desired to lengthen its “shelf life”. -Do not place in a fruit bowl where the rays of the sun are direct, so that the ripening of the fruits is not accelerated and the “useful life” is shortened.Do not refrigerate until it reaches its ripening point. -Always keep clean and dry.
